Qualifications: A degree and CIPS qualification. Must have significant Procurement & Supply Chain experience.
Location:
Head Office, Essex
Key Activities:
• Liaise with Estimator generally and provide assistance with the sourcing and selection of appropriate sub contractors and suppliers to whom enquiries are to be issued and to ensure the procurement strategy adopted is appropriate for the contract.
• To provide programme advice on lead in times for key subcontracts and suppliers.
• To attend the surveyor/estimator/buyer meeting to obtain an understanding of the risks and opportunities present within the contract.
• To attend the pre commencement meeting to understand the procurement issues relevant to the contract.
• To obtain copies of all quotations obtained at bid stage by the Estimators.
• To obtain copies of all documents forming a part of the contract including contractors proposals, employers requirements, conditions of contract, preliminaries, specifications, programme and the main contract from Estimators.
• To provide assistance to the contract team to produce a tender event schedule at the earliest opportunity, that reflects the agreed target programme.
• To review the documentation issued at tender stage to obtain an understanding of the basis of the contract and ensure that all orders placed are back to back with the tender submission of the main contract.
• To review with the team each of the subcontract packages to agree the content of each package in advance of any enquiries/orders being issued, to ensure that we maximise any opportunity to pass interface risk to the appropriate subcontractors and than any opportunity to obtain commercial/programme gain is obtained.
• Produce an updated monthly order status report for each project.
• To assist with the preparation of contact target margins and review and restate it
each month.
• Improve service level agreements with subcontractors.
• Implementation of procedures and subcontract agreements.
• Negotiation with subcontractors.
• Subcontractor Liaison and building of relationships.
• Providing procurement assistance to site teams as and when required.
